Legacy’s Competition Dance Team is a dynamic and high-achieving group of dancers who perform throughout the community and compete at elite events along the East Coast. As leaders in their schools, communities, and within our studio, LCDT members embody the Legacy philosophy — combining passion, discipline, and teamwork both on and off the stage.

These dedicated dancers continuously strive to refine their technique, strengthen their artistry, and inspire audiences with exhilarating and heartfelt performances.

Over the years, LCDT has grown into one of the region’s premier competitive dance programs, earning numerous top awards and distinctions. Their accolades include Highest Adjudications, Overall First Place Awards, Special Recognitions, and notable honors such as the Studio of Excellence Award, World Class Talent Class Act & Sportsmanship Awards, Multiple Title Winners across age divisions, the StarQuest Apogee Award for highest-scoring performance, and numerous Choreography Awards. This talented and driven team continues to raise the bar each season — both in artistry and character.

Legacy School of Dance proudly offers three competitive team opportunities for dancers ages 5 through 18. Our ultimate goal is to give as many dancers as possible the opportunity to perform, grow, and shine — all while receiving a superior dance education in a positive and inspiring environment.

TEAM OVATION

The Ovation Team serves as an introduction to the performing and competitive dance world. Dancers participate in up to two competitions per season, with at least one event typically held in the Richmond area.

This program allows dancers to experience the excitement of being part of a team and working toward shared goals in a fun, supportive, and low-stress environment. This talented and energetic group is hand-selected throughout the year to join the program, which features an accelerated technical curriculum designed to build skill and confidence.

Ovation dancers develop valuable lessons both on and off the stage — learning to express their individual creativity while growing as team players working toward a common purpose.

TEAM INFINITE

The Infinite Team represents the next level of commitment and performance within Legacy’s competitive program. Dancers on this team may attend up to four competitions per season, gaining valuable stage experience and exposure while continuing to strengthen their technical foundation.

This dedicated and talented group of dancers is hand-selected throughout the year to participate in a program designed to challenge their technique, performance quality, and artistry. Through focused training and teamwork, Infinite dancers refine their craft in a positive, supportive environment that encourages growth, confidence, and creativity.

Members of Team Infinite develop advanced performance skills while learning the importance of perseverance, collaboration, and professionalism — preparing them for future success both in dance and beyond.

TEAM ESSENCE

Dancers selected for Team ESSENCE are energetic, passionate, and dedicated to dance as an art form. Chosen through a rigorous selection process, this team consistently amazes audiences with original choreography, dynamic performances, and bold, risk-taking movement.

Maintaining the high level of excellence expected from ESSENCE requires commitment, focus, and dedication. Our dancers grow in a technically challenging yet supportive environment, where they can push boundaries, refine their skills, and achieve their performance goals.

Team ESSENCE also emphasizes teamwork, camaraderie, and lasting friendships, creating experiences that extend far beyond the studio. Members may attend up to six competitions, representing Legacy with skill, artistry, and professionalism.
